Welkom op de website van Jan Duijn, een verzamelaar van topduiven.
Met liefst twintig rechtstreekse Koopmanduiven, acht rechtstreekse Van Loonduiven, vier rechtstreekse Veenstraduiven, drie rechtstreekse Van Dyckduiven en twee rechtstreekste Engelsduiven is hij de bezitter van een subliem kweekhok.
Een jong kweekhok, want pas in 2000 zijn de eerste echte fundamenten hiervoor gelegd.
Wat het allemaal extra bijzonder maakt is dat Jan enkel voor het allerbeste gaat. Een knoop die hij in 1999 heeft doorgehakt. Hij wist van wie hij duiven wilde, maar het was niet altijd makkelijk om aan jongen te geraken. Bij sommige kampioenen was uit bepaalde duiven een wachtlijst die opliep tot drie jaar!
Toch ging Jan ervoor, en schafte jongen aan van de beste duiven die op deze aardbol hebben rondgevlogen.
Daarbij is hij niet alleen een liefhebber van vliegen, maar kweken is ook een grote hobby van hem.
Op zijn hok bevinden zich vier kinderen en een volle zuster van de bij leven al legendarische Kleine Dirk van Koopman (1e NPO Troyes 17.884 duiven, 1e NPO Bourges 7.165 duiven, 1e Maaseik 3.522 duiven, 1e Nationale Asduif de Vredesduifcompetitie), maar ook andere Koopmanduiven zijn goed vertegenwoordigd. Zo heeft Jan (rechtstreekse) kinderen van Golden Lady (superkweekster), Ermerveen's Hope (1e Orleans 9.188 duiven, 1e Boxtel 2.397 duiven, 2e Ablis 13.022 duiven, 2e Hannut 4.393 duiven, 2e Nationale Asduif Eendaagse Fond), De Lorris (1e NPO Lorris 5.356 duiven en vader van de 1e Nationaal Le Mans Noord Nederland tegen 13.461 duiven), Mr. Ermerveen (Olympiadeduif Zuid-Afrika, 1e Nationale Asduif Midfond 2000, 1e Chimay 10.001 duiven, 1e Reims 768 duiven), Noble Blue (vader Mr. Ermerveen en halfbroer Kleine Dirk), Ons Louis (1e NPO Bourges 7.688 duiven) en Emperor Qin (1e Wereldkampioen Jonge Duiven in 1998).
In het Belgische Putte maakte onze hoofdpersoon kennis met de broers Jos en Jules Engels. Hij schafte een van de laatste zonen van de fameuze Den 231 aan, de absolute Nr. 1 stamvader van de huidige Engels-kolonie. Ook een jong van De 584 (1e Semi-Nationaal Chateauroux 13.285 duiven, 10e Nationaal Bourges 9.759 duiven) kwam de kweekhokken in Enschede versterken.
Bij Dirk en Louis van Dyck uit het Belgische Zandhoven concentreerde Jan zich op de Kannibaal-dynastie. Hij kocht jongen van De Rambo (als jaarling in 1994 winnaar van 3 x 1e in de ijzersterke Union Antwerpen), Den Bourges (zoon van De Rambo en winnaar van 2e Nationaal Bourges Jonge Duiven tegen ruim 40.000 duiven in 1994) en natuurlijk van het paradepaardje van de kolonie De Kannibaal (volle broer van Den Bourges en zelf 1e Nationale Asduif Midfond KBDB in 1996). Overigens was het niet voor niets dat Duijn op de stoep stond bij Van Dyck. Hij had als een van de eerste Nederlanders in de smiezen wat voor een impact de Golden Lady van Koopman (dochter Kannibaal) op de Nederlandse duivensport had. Hij bestelde zijn jongen reeds in 1999!
Wat dichter bij huis kocht hij jongen van de paradepaardjes van Pieter Veenstra, die de basis van zijn kolonie ook heeft gevormd met Koopman-duiven. Zo kocht hij jongen uit onder andere Dirky (zoon Kleine Dirk en vader van 1e Duffel 25.905 duiven, 1e Hoensbroek 14.787 duiven, 1e Minderhout 9.818 duiven en 1e Strombeek 3.510 duiven), Mr. Blue (1e Asduif WHZB in 2004, 3e Asduif WZHB in 2003, 1e Asduif Afdeling 10 in 2004, 1e Duffel 2.236 duiven en 1e Hoensbroek 606 duiven) en Darryl (zoon Kleine Dirk en vader van 1e Zutphen 2.916 duiven, 1e Gennep 1.656 duiven & 1e Asduif Eendaagse Fond Afdeling).
Tot slot mogen we good-old Louis van Loon niet vergeten. Bij hem stond Duijn al veel eerder op de stoep en hij kocht er tientallen duiven. Een select maar klasrijk gezelschap is hier van overgebleven en bevolkt eveneens het kweekhok.

With twenty direct Koopman pigeons, eight direct Van Loon pigeons, four direct Veenstra pigeons, three direct Van Dyck pigeons and two direct Engels pigeons, Jan Duyn is the owner of a superb quality breeding loft.
His breeding loft is still very young of age, because first in 2000 the foundation for it was laid.
The extra dimension in this exceptional colony is the fact that Jan is only satisfied with the best of the best. A decision he made in 1999. He knew where to go to get the cream of the crop in pigeon racing, but it was not easy to get what he wanted. Some champions had a waiting list of up to three years for youngsters of some specific toppers Jan was interested in …
Still Jan wanted them, and he acquired a sensational lot of youngsters from the best pigeons ever crossing the skies on the surface of this planet.
Next to that he does not only to race his pigeons, Jan really considers breeding as his biggest hobby.
At his lofts he treasures four children and a full sister to the legendary Kleine Dirk of Corneel & Gerard Koopman (1st NPO Troyes 17,884 birds, 1st NPO Bourges 7,165 birds, 1st Maaseik 3,522 birds, 1st National Acebird "De Vredesduif"), but other Koopman icons too are well represented within the Duyn colony. Jan owns (direct) children to Golden Lady (number 1 Koopman breeder), Ermerveen's Hope (Olympiad bird Lievin 2003, 2nd Nat. acebird one day long distance 2002, 1st NPO Orleans 9,188 b., 1st Boxtel 2,397 b., 2nd NPO Ablis 13,022 b., 2nd Hannut 4,393 b., etc.), De Lorris (1st NPO Lorris 5,356 b. and sire to Magic Man, 1st National Le Mans North Netherlands 13,461 b.), Mr. Ermerveen (Olympiad bird South-Africa, 1st National acebird middle distance 2000, 1st Chimay 10,001 b., 1st Reims 768 b.), Noble Blue (sire to Mr. Ermerveen and half brother to Kleine Dirk), Ons Louis (1st NPO Bourges 7,688 b.) and Emperor Qin (1st world champion youngsters in 1998).
In the Belgian town of Putte our main character met the brothers Jos and Jules Engels. He purchased one of the last sons to the famous Den 231, the number 1 foundation bird of the loft. But also a youngster to De 584 (1st semi-National Chateauroux 13,285 b., 10th National Bourges 9,759 b.) came to reinforce the breeding lofts in Enschede.
At Dirk and Louis van Dyck from Zandhoven in Belgium Jan focused to obtain the famous Kannibaal-dynasty. He bought youngsters from De Rambo (as a yearling 3 x 1st in Union Antwerpen), Den Bourges (son to De Rambo and winner of 2nd National Bourges youngsters in 1994) and of course the pride of the colony, the world famous De Kannibaal (full brother to Den Bourges and 1st National acebird middle distance KBDB in 1996). This was not the first time Duijn visited the great champion Van Dyck. He was one of the first Dutch fanciers to recognize the impact of Koopmans Golden Lady (daughter to De Kannibaal) in International pigeon racing. He already ordered youngsters in 1999!!
A bit closer to home, Jan Duyn acquired youngsters of the very best racers and breeders of Pieter Veenstra, who build up a supreme colony of mainly Koopman pigeons. At Veenstra he bought youngsters from a/o Dirky (son to Kleine Dirk and sire to winners of 1st Duffel 25,905 b., 1st Hoensbroek 14,787 b., 1st Minderhout 9,818 b. and 1st Strombeek 3,510 b.), Mr. Blue (1st National acebird WHZB in 2004, 3rd National acebird WZHB in 2003, 1st acebird in Amalgamation in 2004, 1st Duffel 2,236 b. and 1st Hoensbroek 606 birds) and Darryl (son to Kleine Dirk and sire to winner of 1st Zutphen 2,916 b., 1st Gennep 1,656 b. & 1st acebird one day long distance in Amalgamation).
Finally we can not forget good-old Louis van Loon. Duijn went to him for the first time a long time ago and by now he already bought tenths of pigeons at the famous grandmaster. A select but extremely brilliant selection of these pigeons remained and also house the breeding lofts at Jan Duijn.
